AML and risk controls are intended to prevent the service from being used for unlawful or prohibited activity while avoiding routine identity collection where it is not needed for an eligible standard exchange.
Risk-Based Transaction Screening
Orders and related blockchain transactions may be reviewed using transaction data, blockchain information and other risk signals available to the service. Screening can occur before, during or after the source transaction is detected, depending on the exchange state and the nature of the risk alert.
The review can consider signals associated with sanctions, stolen or fraud-linked assets, abuse patterns and other suspicious activity. A risk signal does not automatically mean a user has committed wrongdoing, but it can require additional checks before processing continues.
When Additional Review May Be Required
Additional review is exceptional rather than a routine step for every exchange. A review may be triggered when the service detects information that creates a material compliance or security concern.
Examples can include:
- direct or material exposure to sanctioned or restricted activity;
- indicators that assets may be connected with theft, fraud or unauthorized access;
- transaction characteristics that are materially inconsistent or suspicious;
- suspected ransomware, extortion or other criminal proceeds;
- attempts to misuse the service, evade controls or provide misleading exchange information;
- a risk alert that cannot be resolved from blockchain and order data alone.
The presence of a trigger does not predetermine the outcome. The service may need more information to understand the transaction before deciding how the order can proceed.
Information We May Request
When an exceptional review is triggered, Swap-BNB.io may request information relevant to the specific risk issue. The service does not require the same documents from every user or every order.
Depending on the case, a request can include:
- the order ID and transaction hash;
- clarification of the source and intended destination of the funds;
- information showing control of the sending or receiving wallet;
- an explanation of the transaction purpose;
- identity or supporting documents when they are necessary to resolve a material risk alert.
Never send a seed phrase, private key or wallet recovery phrase. Those credentials are not legitimate AML verification documents and are not required by Swap-BNB Support.
Prohibited Activity
Swap-BNB.io must not be used to facilitate unlawful or prohibited activity. Orders can be subject to review or rejection when the service has reasonable grounds to believe they are connected with prohibited use.
Prohibited activity includes, without limitation:
- money laundering or concealment of criminal proceeds;
- terrorist financing;
- fraud, theft or unauthorized access to funds;
- sanctions evasion or prohibited restricted-party activity;
- ransomware, extortion or related proceeds;
- deliberate attempts to bypass service security or risk controls;
- use of the service for other unlawful transactions.
Possible Order Outcomes
The response to a risk alert depends on the order state, blockchain status and the information available during review. Swap-BNB.io does not promise one automatic outcome for every flagged transaction.
Depending on the circumstances, the service may:
- pause processing while a material risk issue is reviewed;
- request additional transaction information or supporting documents;
- allow processing to continue after the alert is resolved;
- reject or cancel an exchange where this is technically and operationally possible;
- provide case-specific instructions through support when funds have already been sent and normal processing cannot continue immediately.
Blockchain transactions may be irreversible, so a cancelled or rejected service order does not mean every already-broadcast transfer can automatically be reversed or refunded. Users should follow the instructions provided for the specific case.
No Routine KYC Does Not Mean No Screening
Swap-BNB.io distinguishes the standard exchange flow from exceptional risk review. For an eligible standard crypto-to-crypto exchange, the service does not require account registration or routine identity verification.
Risk screening still applies. If an order presents a material AML or security concern, additional review can occur and KYC or supporting information can be requested where necessary. For this reason, “no routine KYC” should not be interpreted as “verification can never occur.”
Records and Privacy
Information connected with an exceptional compliance review may be retained as reasonably necessary for security, dispute handling and applicable compliance needs. Retention depends on the type of record and the purpose for which it is needed.
The Privacy Policy explains the broader handling of exchange, support, technical and public blockchain information.
Compliance Contact
Questions about an AML review or compliance issue can be sent to [email protected]. For an active exchange, include the order ID and transaction hash when available, but never include wallet recovery credentials.
General contact options are listed on the Contacts page. The Disclaimer explains blockchain, network and third-party risk boundaries that are separate from AML review.
